What’s been happening:

When I completed my undergrad degree in architecture, I secured a teaching fellowship at the PSU Hotel School, where I taught for 6 years and worked for a local architect in State College. During that time I restored a 200 year old stone farmhouse in Pleasant Gap PA which I filled with local antiques. In 1989 I moved to Washington, DC to work in the Architecture Division of Marriott Hotels. A lot of my time was spent traveling helping design and open hotels and resorts overseas. I left Marriott in 2004 to start my own design firm (a partnership with 14 associates) that specializes in facilities with commercial and institutional kitchens or food operations. In addition to architecture and design, I have had a variety of sub careers including restoring historic houses, building and owning a fine dining restaurant (Victorian Manor in Lemont), founding a chain of audio/ video stores (WES HIFI) on College Ave in State College. I write as a paid columnist for two restaurant industry trade publications. I started writing about 15 years ago as a hobby, never expecting to write more than a dozen articles. After 200 published articles I stopped counting. I have lived in White Plains, NY for the past 25 years. I have a 20-year-old daughter studying at NYU and a 24 year old son living in Philadelphia who graduated from Temple.
